Stainless Steel Version of RUNI Screw Compactor for Dewatering Defrosted Ice Cream

Manufacturers of ice cream have a need to destroy returned goods with expired dates and/or faulty products to prevent them from being sold by mistake.

The RUNI screw compactor handles destruction, separation, and compacting in one continuous process, making handling and storage easier for manufacturers. Installing the compactor close to the production area increases the certainty of destruction and saves transport costs.

Functioning of Screw Compactor for Dewatering Defrosted Ice-Cream

During separation, the waste stream is split into two: The liquid can be discarded as waste water, or in some cases, it can be collected and sold for other purposes, e.g., animal feed or energy production. The solid becomes dry and can go to incineration at a lower cost or be sold to recycling companies.

The defrosted ice cream can be fed into the screw compactor manually or with a conveyor belt into the vertical hopper. The liquid is pressed out through a hole matrix, and the compacted material is slowly pushed out of the departure tray and collected in a container.

SK370 Screw Compactor for Ice-Cream

For dewatering defrosted ice-cream, RUNI offers the SK370 screw compactor.

The capacity of the compactor is approx. 15.000 litres per hour.

The perforated matrix is made of stainless steel (AISI316) to withstand liquids with low pH.

Please note:
In the food industry the machine needs to be placed somewhere away from the main production.
The ice-cream must be 100% defrosted.
